I made this paddle for two clients who wanted to get their father a special gift to show how proud they were of his latest achievements in beer brewing.

I worked closely with the two brothers to come up with a layout and the details and then I went searching for the perfect piece of wood. I still had a few board feet of some 100+ year old cherry that I purchased from an elderly farmer a few years ago – he stated that his grandfather milled the cherry and never used it. It had such a fantastic grain pattern that I bought every foot of the stuff I could!

I used the scrollsaw to cut the out the Hops flowers in the paddle and my CNC Router to carve the name in the handle area as well as the logo in the paddle.

Overall, the paddle measures 43 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide and is a solid inch thick.

Only finish is a quick soak in 100% food-grade mineral oil.

They had me ship it directly to their Father – hope he likes it!

There is no doubt the father will LOVE it….
Not only because it is a gift from his sons’ heart….
Also because it is a great piece of craftsmanship!!!

I hope you negotiated for a few cases of beer!!!
