I used various types of wood for my cutting board. I used some hard and some soft. I used cherry, pine, some cedar, just a bunch of different pieces. I took those long strips and cut them down to 20 inch pieces. I then took those pieces and glued and clamped them together. After they dried I cut them into strips for my final glue. Once it was glued up I sanded both sides and rounded the top edges. For finish I just used some poly because I was just going for looks not use. Since I had soft and hard wood it wouldn’t make a good useful cutting board but rather like a decoration or something.
