On my trip to the burl forest taking a new product to the Kitchen Store I went down a side street and seen a gallery with some wood project through the window. I went back to see if they took handmade products and showed her the clock. They will take my work and are opening another one in another town- Terrace. Only charges 25%, so will do more creative work- bowls, bandsaw boxes, etc. She ordered 6 french fancy rolling pins for the terrace store and wanted me to make a simple folding tables. That was a worthwhile stop, the clock goes to a friend at the burl forest.
The pictures are self explanitory, select tree, cut down, cut burls off. lug and roll burls up the bank, load into car and go home tired out with car sitting low with a half ton of burls. Him and his wife were having a controversy, he said there where thousands of burls and she said there where hundreds. The two trees I too didn’t make much of a dent. The trees are poplar, the burl wood is brown and very pretty, not always solid, but works great for clocks, tables etc when combined with epoxy. Hope to try some bandsaw. boxes too.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures, it was quite a adventure for me.

Your created a great looking clock from the burl. Must be great to be able to select a tree and collect the burls, do you need a license before you collect timber. Sounds like you have a good thing going with the gallery. Thanks for sharing.

A NEW TITLE also—”Burl-Master!”

Very nice. You need a little heavier hauler, to keep on “burling”.
