This is a lidded box turned on the lathe. It is maple with a beeswax finish. It stands 4 3/4” tall to the top of the finial and the base is approximately 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”. I stained the base with dark walnut Watco oil and finished over that with beeswax. It was designed to hold a ring so the inside depth of the box is only 3/4” deep and does not go all the way to the bottom. The inside diameter of the box is 1 1/4” and it was cleared with a forstner bit on the lathe. I still need to make the “slit” that will hold the ring.

Any comments are appreciated and thanks for looking!

I too like the grain of this piece. But I really like how it plays with the profile you gave it!!!
