Welcome to lumberjocks.
Nice turning station.
Do you have any problems turning pens on the Harbor Freight bench lathe? I have the same one but I’ve been told that I really need a variable speed lathe to turn pens.

Thanks.
I haven’t had any problems with the HF lathe. I run it at top speed for pens and bottle stoppers, and most small projects. Slower for larger projects. It performs well for me. A variable speed would be nice, but I don’t see it necessary. You can get attachments to vary the elect to it, but I don’t like such things if it didn’t come with it. I’m afraid the motor may burn out. Changing the belt on this for a different speed is quick and easy. And I seldom change the speed.

Great looking stand and build.

I think the HF lathe is good for what I’ve done so far. It was a good starter. Someday I may buy something better.
