Our pantry was a disaster, so I promised my fiancee that I would make something to help organize it (that way she would continue to cook for me).

The drawers are made out of poplar and the frame is made out of maple plywood from a big box store. I used finger joints for the drawers and pocket holes for the frame. I stained it with Minwax.

If it were available, I would have used a planer and jointer. Consequently, the drawers weren’t as square as I had hoped. For the finger joints, I bought a new Incra jig . . . which I really enjoyed using!

It turned out great, and I ended up acquiring a lot of bonus points with this project. I plan on using some of these points to buy additional tools.

Those are truly excellent. I bought several sets of full extension drawer slides over a year ago with the same idea, but I’ve yet to build / install mine. Thanks for sharing, it may inspire me to get some bonus points of my own!

Very nice! I need to do the same with our pantry!
