I built this blanket chest for a Christmas gift for my wife. I can’t remember the source I used for the plans, but it’s about 50/50 my design and the plan’s design.

I used oak for the sides, tops, and edging. I had to use pine door casing for the corners, since I couldn’t find oak. However, I was pleasantly surprised they mesh okay.

I used dark walnut for stain and finished with poly.

Thanks, Jim. She sure did like it. I have to make sure she sees some output from all of the time I spend in the shop!
