Built-In Cabinets

I finished this project a few years ago, my first foray into built-in furniture.I must say it turned out quite well. The wood is maple, both solid and plywood. The finish is matte polyurethane. there are obvious issues which I would change (like with all projects) I had originally not planned on adding the drawers so the tops are not continuous which when observed up close tends to make it look a little cheap. However all in all not a bad project. I especially enjoyed planing the lower trim to match the curve of the hardwood floors.

I have to say the hardest thing to deal with in this project was the design work. The window is not centered which was annoying, I had originally planned to have a symetrical set of upper cabinets, however because the window is not centered that would have stood out as not being centered.

Cheers,

Derek

Great job.
Frankly, I like the design and the natural wood colour.
Thanks for sharing.

Well done! Cabinets go well with the wood floor. Nice details.
