These are a few pictures of a completely wood shelving system that I am developing and will be a standard production item. These shelf components are made from primarily Manitoba Burr Oak and Manitoba Green Ash with some walnut for design accents. The ash is indeed dry, the “Green” is nomenclature of the species. These items are a strategic and marketing effort to add value to the native hard wood that grow in abundance in the Winnipeg area.

I am still in the development stage of the shelving system. The production product will be slightly less chunky, meaning the uprights (standards) will be thinner, 1 ¼”, as opposed to 1 5/8” in the photos. The shelving material will be either Manitoba Ash or Oak and will feature enclosed shelving boxes and enclosed shelving boxes with a flip up door. Look to more developments and finished product in the future.
