Ohh, that feels soooo good….Scratch that spot again….Come on…..Oh yes, thank you!

My newest carving from a Hemlock knot that I found not too far from home. Found wood is my favorite, and

incorporating spirits into what exists is what I do :) I hope no one gets angry that I add this little tid bit, but I’d like to

let you all know that you can find my work from my signature and also on ebay. Search Josh Carte or my username is

carpcuts2. I just want to make that known :)

I carve all of my spirits using my Foredom- kinda like the tools that the dentist uses on your teeth. From large burs

and tiny smoothers, to pencil lead thin paint brushes, all of my work is carved and painted by hand. I get a real kick

out of this fella’ because he looks to be enjoying something intently. I’m just as surprised as you are by the character

that shows up in each piece of wood. I am able to control the direction of where the wood is taking me, but the wood

still holds the reigns.

You did it again! This is a wonderful piece of art. This dude looks like he is spaced out in his own world, good job. I love the before and after pictures.

Do you ever get tired of hearing….WOW!

Probably not…LOL!

You are a talented guy. Appears you can also find the right material for your work? :)

Hey DocSavage45,

I don’t know anyone who gets tired of being complimented, do you?! :)

Thank you for your kind words!

I’m a bit of a wood hoarder. I go and gather as much as I can. And what I can’t gather, I try to buy in bulk :) I don’t

ever want to be inspired and not have the wood to carry out the vision. Thanks to all of you!
