This plant stand is constructed of red oak. I saw a similar stand at a friends house and decided to make a couple. I cut the notches via bandsaw as well as the ratchet piece and the stabilizing piece on the bottom. There is a dowel which allows the ratchet to swing. There is no hardware in this project… Only wood glue. The middle sections are 1 1/2” square and they fit into square jokes on the base and top.
Finished with 50:50 minwax 210 b and 211 with clear satin poly (2 coats).
A pretty easy little project and a unique way to design a useful product. Hope you guys like it!
