I built this end table for my mother as a Christmas present. It is solid walnut, built with traditional joinery. The finish is a seal coat of shellac, followed by four coats gloss poly, thinned 50/50 with MS, and wiped on. I sanded with 400-grit between coats. I buffed it with #0000 steel wool, followed by a hard rubbing with a cotton rag.
