Here is my very first wood project. I was just moving in to my first home and needed a bed. I always loved the look of cedar log beds and figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. Peeled the bark with a drawknife and used the same drawknife to shave the ends of each post. It’s note quite my log home yet, but it’s a great start and my wife and I love it. The thing is heavy and very sturdy. Just finished with a clear satin poly. Hasn’t changed at all in the 3 years I’ve had it.

This is when I fell in love with hobby woodworking. I’ve seen steadily built a supply of tools and worked on a few other projects that I’ll post in the near future.

That’s fantastic, nice craftsmanship. I owe my oldest son & his wife a pair of rockers made like this. If I remember the two mortise/tenon bits required are pretty pricey for the good ones.
