I am terrible at wrapping gifts so my wife’s new earings went in a small walnut “sugar” bowl.

The base came from a solid walnut branch, the top is from two 3/4” scrap glued together. The two scraps were different shades of walnut but all that remained from the darker top one is the small nub so not very noticable. You can tell I made it because the remenants of the screw holes from the face plate are still ever so slightly present in the top rim of the base. Oh welll…

First time making anything with a lid. It went suprisingly well…

Great work. From another guy who is terrible at wrapping gifts to his wife, this is a great idea. I just wish I had a lathe…....and knew how to turn

Nice turning. Good idea to put the gift in a sweet looking bowl.
