woodpeckers router table free hand guard

woodpeckers router table free hand guard

03-12-2021 09:10 PM by pottz | 26 comments »

one of our members dw (desert woodworker) posted this a couple months ago, when i saw it i went and ordered immediately. it wasn’t yet available and i just got it yesterday.it is made to attach to woodpeckers lifts with two threaded knobs but can be retrofitted to any lift by simply drilling and threading a couple holes. a real simple guard that eliminates a starter pin.has a 2-1/2” opening that you can just plug your shop vac into.trying it out id say it sucked up a good 98% perce...

well i was looking at and contimplating getting a festool rotex, started to look at reviews and came across one that pushed me to bosch,it was done by a guy that runs a commercial cabinet shop.he has and has used both sanders extensively.it his opinion was they were both equal in performance and said why spend twice the money.so i didn’t and got the bosch.having just done some testing with it im real happy so far,the sander really removes wood fast on the turbo setting.it’s variabl...

flexiport dust canister

flexiport dust canister

04-19-2020 09:10 PM by pottz | 9 comments »

saw this in a rockler ad and having already been using there other hoses and fittings decided to give it a try.the canister has 4 fittings that will fit just about any ros out there.the end screws off to empty, this is were the filter is attached.filter is rated at 10 microns not the best but seemed to work as well or better than the cloth ones on most sanders.i did have the unit pop off my sander a few times,i need to add something to my sanders dust port to eliminate this issue.if your not a...

as far as power cords or plugs go there really hasn’t much change in many years until this came out.century wire and cable just came out with a line of power cords in 50’ and 100’ the feature a locking female end called pro lock.once the male end in inserted it will not come out until you pull back the sleeve, like an air coupler works.besides cords they also have replacement plugs as shown.i have drop cords in various places and i was always having cords pull out,but this pl...

got this accessory recommendation for my porter cable 4216 dovetail jig from fellow good friend and lumber jock little black duck.as soon as i checked it out i ordered it.after the first test of the router jig (i did a review on the porter cable jig also) i knew i needed some type of dust collection, everyone knows the dust created routing.this was an easy to setup jig that not only collects about 90 percent of the dust but also creates a great support for the router.the jig just stays attache...

porter cable 4216 joint system.just got the porter cable 4216 super jig. so first thing i had to do was play with it and test out the various joints it will do.out of the box their is very little assembly required.the first thing was how to hold the jig to the work bench,so i made a base the i could lock down to my assembly bench’s t track.next was to read the manuel as all men always do,”right” then proceed to create joints, such as the dove tail, blind dove and box joint.as...

NICE SAW FOR THE MONEY

just got this saw set up this morning and put it to the test.so far I’m real happy with it.i intend this as second saw so I can set it up with dado blades to avoid changing blades back and forth.its wired for 110v but can be changed to 220v.after the setup I checked for squareness and found it to be right the money.the fence is smooth and locks firmly.the dust collection port is only 2.5” so I put on an adaptor to connect my 4” hose which did a great job catching most of wha...

well I just got this dust shield yesterday and put it to the test, mounted it on my porter cable fixed base router, pretty simple.tested with the biggest bit that would fit through the shield,1-3/8 chamfer bit, wanted to make as much dust as possible.well it did a great job picking up id estimate to be 95% or more.i have it connected to my fein dust collector attached to the router with rocklers dust right universal hose kit which fit perfectly.i agree with iminmyshop though that the plastic is...
