Writing and making anything i can by hand is a life long passion. I took wood shop in High School and fell in love with the craft. Needless to say i am a beginner, so I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

I live in Charlotte, NC. And i am wondering if there is anyone in the area who i can kinda learn from (apprentice) if you will or watch/observe. I took wood shop in High School and fell in love w/ the art. My dad was also a carpenter who i learned a little from. I am kinda intimidated to take on my first project before getting my feet wet again. Thanks.

thanks everyone for the welcome. I am awestruck w/ the beautiful projects i have seen so far. Wow, do i have lots of Learning & catching up to do. I only wish i would have come back to woodworking sooner, but family and work have taken up most of my time until recently. Looking forward to learning and getting lost of input. Thanks again everyone!!

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Wisty

Hi Kris. How is you woodworking coming?
Have you made many projects?
What tools have you accumulated so far?
Being in N Carolina you are in the heart of the wood furniture business ( and NASCAR)
I worked for Steelcase and they had a plant in Asheville and I got down there at least once a year to make wood masters. We sure went to a lot of wood and veneer suppliers in the area. You should have an endless supply of hardwood!!

This is the best woodworking site on the net!!

Cheers, Jim
