I am building my first cabinet which is a CD/DVD cabinet in which the doors are also shelves. The doors are 3/4 Plywood and are 18X40X7 inches deep and hold about 150 to 200 CDs on its 6 shelves. yes alot of weight. Do I need to take any steps to prepare Particle Board for covering it with Ceramic Tile? Will the PB react in anyway to the tile addhesive, or should I use a different base? Thanks

Gluing two surfaces - 4 replies

I am making two boxes from Walnut with a inner lining of Alder. My question is, will these two woods be compatable with just a glue joint or should I use some sort of other way to connect them together to allow for wood movement? The alder is 6X 10 inches and 7/8 inch thick as is the Walnut. Thanks
