Hello all, I though I would share a picture of the shopsmith mark v 10 er I got a few days ago.

That’s definitely a 10ER. (The Mark V didn’t come out until 1953.) It looks pretty nice and complete too. The two extras that everyone looks for on a 10ER are casters and a speed changer. You got one out of two. Speed changers are nice but most machines don’t have them. They were an extra back in the day and I guess not many bought them.

Sounds like a great machine has been returned to use. I was just speaking with someone about these the other day and he educated me, in that I was not aware that not all of these were actually made by ShopSmith. His brother has the machine (10ER) his father purchased from Montgomery Wards to build their house in the early 50’s.
