no previous part Part 1 of Log Lifter/Loader series no next part

I have a small band mill and have really enjoyed working with it. I was having a problem getting the logs to it, SOOO!!

I made a lift that can be put on a tractor 3 pt hitch or the reciever hitch of a pickup. Now, I want to rebuild it so I can hook our trailer to it and then just drop the trailer and pick up some wood. Right now I have to load it on the trailer, haul, unhook and manhandle the thing back into the hitch. Then reverse that when loaded.

Anyway, here is a video of what it does.

Now that is just plain cool. Nice job. Love making things that help to do something. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool oleCB. What kind of mill do you have? I’ve been researching quite a bit into them as I hope to get one in the next year or so.

We have a LumberSmith portable band mill. It does what we want. Eddy Whichard has been great to deal with, he always gets parts shipped ASAP and offers advice.

We were limited to available $$ when we bought it, would a loved to have one that does it’s own lifting and all. We don’t do enough to make that worth while.

You decide to get one, tell Eddy, I sent you to him. (I getta free saw blade!)
