There used to be a place called Henry's that sold all types of Screws but now I can'tr find it. - 4 replies

I’m looking for square drive 3/4 inch steel or nickle #6 and #8 fine and course flathead screws and they had about anything you wanted at one time. Did they go out of business? Where is the best place now to buy fasteners like this at a good price? larry Also, is this a good birch edge trim?

I'm tired of cheap drill bits that go dull with only a few uses. - 18 replies

Can someone advise me? Does HD or Lowe’s or Menards have any good metal square shank bits that they sell? I don’t want to morgage my house to pay for them but I would like to have some decent bits to use; my arm gets tired trying to push a drill bit through 3/32” metal. larry

Help me out here.I am aware of the Kregg K5 but the Armor pocket hole jig is a new kid on the block for me. Both are priced similar but function quite differently. Which would you buy or why did you buy what you did. Here is one link on utube of the Armor, there are others.

Can I slow down the drying of shellac? - 16 replies

I want to apply Zinnsser Bulls Eye Amber shellac to a wooden door and the shellac dries rapidly. Is there a way to slow down the drying of shellac to prevent lap marks or shading? Can it be rolled on successfully? larry

What type of finish can I use on top of Amber Shellac? The can says not to use polyurethane on shellac, I tried a sample and it did not dry it just got stiicky. Amber is the exact color match that I need but I also need to coat my wood steps with something other than shellac don’t I? Would clear shellac be ok for a final finish? larry
