HOOOWDY! As Minnie Pearl used to say.

This time the awesome find was a set of Rikon carbide lathe tools.

Here is how much they cost when they were new.

The awesome price I paid was $60.00. This was great because I’ve been in need of some turning tools ever since I bought my Grizzly lathe (T25926 – I bought it on sale and it came with a free extension). You can see it being assemble here.

If you own a set of these I’d like to know what you think of them. Do you think I got a good deal?

Thanks for looking! Take care.

I bought a set of Rikon 70-800 on sale for $149. Really nice set of carbide turning tools. Like them a lot. Easy to change shafts. I went and got the 6” extension handle, steel counter weight and a extra shaft (so I can have four different tips readily available). I do plan on getting the paisley and finger nail tips. The shafts seem to glide across the tool rest smoother than the other turning tools I have.
