I have decided to make boxes. My first one I’m going to make simple. It is going to be 6”x10” . Here is the pieces for the outside of the box. I am making it out of soft brown maple. The sides are 1/2” thick. And the depth of it is 3 1/2” tall. Here is a picture of them.

Great start, you will learn a few new skills and work out any assembly issues that may come about

Nice start! Thinks to consider: corner joints, hinges or not, top and handle and or clasp/closure.

You know what? I haven’t made any since I got my new shop up and running. I think I’ve learned a few things since then. Your post has inspired me to go back and make another one. Good luck on yours and thanks for sharing.
