Hello fellow LumberJocks, this is Mrs. Mudflap aka Candy. Some of you know that Mudflap (Jim) had a stroke the first of this month. I sorrowfully report that life support was withdrawn this evening and he passed quietly with me and his dog Napoleon at his side. I want you all to know he enjoyed the people he met here both on line and in person. The folks on the Stumpy Nubbs thread became family.
Jim used to say “ I don’t speak computer and it don’t speak idiot!” therefore many of his projects didn’t get posted. So I’d like to share some with y’all here.
Adjustable push block that rode on the table saw fence

A thank you gift for the nurses at cardiac rehab

Router cabinet

And his last project a stand for his Kindle

EDIT: I am adding a link to Jim’s obituary and a slideshow of some pictures if you’d care to watch. Some how his LJ avatar didn’t make it into the show.

So sad to see this, yet grateful to know him a bit from this site. He was a great man who added to our community. I pray that God will give his family peace as they grieve his passing.

This is terrible news, I was hoping he was getting better and soon to be out of the ICU and eventually home. What a great guy, what a tragic loss to us all.

Sad to hear this Candy. Even though I never got to meet him and you I considered you both a friend and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Candy, you have my condolences. I’ll think of ‘Flap every time I look at the Old Fart Highway sign in my shop.

Talented woodworker, heck of a wit, really enjoyed his posts over the years. My condolences on your loss.

The hardest thing we will ever do is carry on after the loss of the ones we love.

Wish you strength. Honor his memory, be the person he loved. Don’t despair to a detriment to yourself. You know he would not wish that for you.

Best wishes and prayers for you…

Sounds like he lived well and enjoyed life, do the same in his memory…So sorry…

I’m so sorry for your loss Candy. I will never forget the first time I met Jim, nor will I forget any time after the first. He was such a nice man. I remember when you guys gave me a tour of your shop. I remember at Andy’s when I was learning to use my mill and he caught something I was doing wrong and was like, Hey Bill I don’t think that’s right. I sure will be sad to not add more memories of Jim. Rest easy my friend.
