My wife wasn't home so I made good use of the kitchen table.

I always go to may spare room and check on all my stock when I am concerned about their welfare or looking for something to finish.
They are not as good looking as your family but I love them just as much! tee hee!

Lol. I get nervous when the dog looks at my stock… She ate the wooden doorstop!

What a fantastic collection of wood you have there mja979. While visiting a friends flooring company here in China he gave me a load of off cuts all measuring around 35×25 x 5cm and told me it was African Tamboti Sandalwood. It has quite a strong aroma when cutting it, is very hard and has an outer yellowish colour and inner redish brown. Some ends had been painted black if that means anything.

Can you or someone tell me if he’s right?

That surgery is not fun! Will you have to were the hand gear? I wish you luck and a speedy recovery.
