This is kind of a follow up on the wegie sled blog where I had to make a segmented ring for a clock. I got the original idea from a fellow LJ Dave Dufour, but the lady I made it for wanted a religious theme, so I modified Dave’s design to a cross. The body of the cross is maple, and the ring is walnut and maple segments. I cut a square recess in the back of the upright piece to receive the movement so it would be flush with the back. The first picture is the finished clock with BLO and shellac, the second is the raw wood.
