I had some interest from fellow Lumberjocks to let them know how the sales were at the show this weekend. Here’s a lengthy recap. You may want to get some snacks now or visit the restroom before proceeding. Day one of art show box sales is in the books. Day two is tomorrow. Let’s start at the beginning. Rested and refreshed the wife and I headed back to the Art and Antique sale with renewed vigor. One day of slow (actually nonexistent) sales wouldn’t deter us from putting a fine box in the hands of every American. When we pulled our trusty Ford F-150 into the venue there were plenty of parking spaces. Hmmm…. we arrived at the same time as yesterday and had to squeeze into a spot then. Is this an omen that the crowds on Saturday were much larger than we’d find today? ...

Part 3: I Didn't want to Do it...

My last (and only) attempt at a Craft/Art show was not a huge success. Other than good company and a festive atmosphere, it was a lot of work for little sales. You guys all know that woodworking is an expensive hobby (or business for you talented guys) and if you don’t make some money, you are limited in what you can do (or what the wife will allow you to do.)
