Recently (2009) retired sales manager living in the western suburbs of Chicago. I began working with wood as a kid helping my Dad build houses. My wife, Libi, and I live in a small 90 year-old Craftsman bungalow which we've been rehabbing and upgrading for the last 10 years. There's no way that we'll ever get the money out that we've put into the place so I guess we'll stay put.

My basement shop is roughly 23 x 13 and, like everything else is constantly "under construction". My main piece of equipment is a Shopsmith 520 with bandsaw, jointer, DC3300 dust collector and a couple of other accessories. Also use a Bosch 10" dual-bevel slide miter saw and other power hand tools. Naturally, with all of the power equipment, I've recently become interested in hand tools and hope to increase my skills in that area.

Other hobbies include my 1977 MGB, travel and reading.

Take care.

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
