SW Iowa, IA
United States
Multi-purpose workshop, commonly known to others as an attached 2 car garage. Left stall stays fairly free of large permanent fixtures to allow for mechanic work on the cars, the vehicles sleep outside in the driveway or in the 40×60 pole barn behind the house(rural acreage). In the final stages right now of residing the entire house so that is the primary focus of the garage at this point, hopefully will be done in the next several weeks so I can move onto new projects. Garage door is getting replaced in 3 weeks which along with siding that wall will be the final items that have to be replaced to have an entirely new exterior…very thankful insurance paid for 95% of it.
Electrical is fed off a dedicated 100 amp panel, lighting is currently provided by (8) 3 bulb 4’ florescent fixtures with electronic ballasts with T8 6000K daylight bulbs, once the garage door gets replaced the last row of (4) more fixtures is going in. Air compressor is a simple 30 gallon CP, dust collection is currently provided by the floor and gravity or a shop vac, this is going to need to be one of the next upgrades.
Items in picture include:
10” Unisaw with Jet fence
20” Powermatic bandsaw with variable speed gearbox and VFD for additional speed control(but primarily used because the motor is 3phase and this acts as the convertor)
8” Powermatic jointer
Hybrid Powermatic/Rockwell delta VS lathe
10” Delta sliding compound miter saw with partially finished chop saw cabinets,
15” disc sander/drum sander
DeWalt 735 Planer
The drill press shown isn’t functional and is actually a metal working drillpress, there is a Powermatic 1100 in pieces ready to go back together for that job.

Thanks gentleman! It’s slowly getting to where I’d like it to be, and with my major house remodeling project hopefully coming to a close I should have more time to spend out there so I can start to post some projects!

Nice shop. I’m envious you’ve got a place to store lumber. I haven’t figured that out yet. Plenty of room and some damn nice tools.
Have your say...
