Part of every workshop success is being organized and having templates on hand to trace and cut out, my shop is no different, for the longest time I kept my templates stuffed in a box, as of lately I have been getting request for shelves, rather than dig out these templates I created the “I SEE IT BOARD” this way a person can see the options that are available, it will be easier for me as well because I will be able to grab what I need and when I am done I can easily put it back for later use. Each one is identified both on the template and the “I SEE IT BOARD” this way they always go back where they belong, The only thing I need to do is drill some holes and put a bolt through with a washer and wing nut.(at the time of this writing the hardware store wasn’t opened)
I am also limiting myself to what it is available for both shelf profiles and support for the simple reason that it could easily get out of hand. The “I SEE IT BOARD” is not a new concept, if you hang your tools on a peg board, that in it self is an “I SEE IT BOARD” The best part about having an “I SEE IT BOARD” is it can be customized to fit your needs. Like any other organization project, it has to work for you, my version works well for me because I can hang this out of my way but yet still have easy access to it and people can easily see it.
