Location: Sandy, Utah

I am a 73 year-old retired accountant who took up woodworking when loml gave me a table saw for Christmas 2008. I have found woodworking to be an outlet that I need and is practical at the same time. My small wood shop, a converted storage shed, has become my "man cave," a place I love to go for solitude and creative expression. Loml has enjoyed it too, because most of the things I make are things that she also likes.

I am gradually upgrading my shop with better tools and materials. I once felt my skills were not yet worthy of the better woods. Now with a lot of pine, poplar and MDF dust behind me, I feel confident enough to strike out with more challenging techniques and better materials. I divide my WW time between making tools, cabinets, etc. for my shop, and furniture, gifts, etc. for the family.

This website has been one of the keys that has unlocked the pleasure of woodworking. Whatever I have lacked in technique, knowledge, I know I can post here and get good advice.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
