I saw a thread on whether or not Pressure treated lumber is safe for indoor projects, and noticed it was mentioned that newer lumber is safer. But i just built a desk using some old pressure treated lumber from when i took down my deck. It’s probably 15+ years old, (my house was built in 01). I didn’t think about it until i brought it in and realized it stinked, and started looking into. I’ve seen threads about people saying it can give you arsenic poising etc.

So i’m wondering, is it safe to use for an indoors project? It wont be cut or anything because i was lucky enough to find pieces that already fit. And if it is safe, what can i do to get rid of the smell?

Have your say...
