I grew up in the Valencia region of Spain. In 1986 I came to the United States to attend college in central California. There I met my wife Lia from Seattle, Wa and we moved to Spain in 1990-1992. When we arrived back, we bought a set of bunk beds that were too weak to be safely stacked, so I decided to make my own, not knowing even what a router was. In 1993 I launched my part-time woodworking business making mostly bunk beds and dressers mostly out of pine. In 1998 I quit my regular job and became a full time professional woodworker.
Many people ask me where I learned woodworking, and the answer is from all the great woodworking books, videos and magazines. I am self-taught and went through a lot of trial and errors.
In 2004 we moved our family to Upstate New York and I'm very glad to live around so many beautiful hardwoods on our property and the plentiful wood resources in the North-East.
I love wood, and I am always looking for the best for my projects. As a result this led me to buy in bulk from different mills in the N.E.and now I sell to fellow woodworkers both local and out of state.
My philosophy is to use the best material available, and the best craftsman ship according to your skill. Everything we produce is a limited addition of ourselves, since we have a count of days on this planet. We strive to make the customer happy and to make pieces that will last for generations.
I thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for giving me the inspiration for all the original pieces of furniture, and for leading me to find the best materials. He is the boss, I'm just the manager.

Welcome to LJ José.
Thanks for posting your work, another great example of artistry meeting craftmanship that I find amazing, and at this website often. If you look, I think you’ll find the community to be amazingly friendly and helpful. The site allows for organized searching and there are tons of information and projects. Today, by chance, I ran into your work and that was my good fortune given that I’ve only scratched the surface of what is in it and available. Best regards, Mario

I simply must acknowledge your beautiful work and appreciate the recognition of your inspiration from the Boss. I like to tell people that my Boss was a Jewish Woodworker and he always expects me to do the best that I can.

Bonito trabajo, y bonita tu historia. Da gusto que alguien sea tan valiente como para seguir sus sueños. Felicidades, que sigas siendo tan feliz.
Por cierto. Con el jefe que tienes, no hay forma de tomarse un descansito “irregular”
