Hey, Jon, thanks for making me a buddy. I have been making boxes for a few years, now and am always picking up something new. I really like that you are finding ways to “repurpose” wood. I feel like I am doing my best work when I am turning somebody’s scrap or discarded wood into something beautiful. A few years ago, I salvaged some cherry trim from a flooded condo, and I am still making boxes out of it. I made 13 boxes for the guy who owned the condo, and he gave them as gifts to those who volunteered to help with the cleanup. Each box contained a message about the wood being like “Phoenix rising from the ashes” of the gutted condo.
