My dad had a lot of handyman skills and I would assist him in his projects. He and I would watch This Old House and New Yankee Workshop together. I was always interested in woodworking since I was little.

In July 2014 a friend indefinitely lent me a 1955 Shopsmith Mark V Greenie. He bought it used and it wasn't in working condition. I watched so many videos online and took it completely apart. I replaced the belts and bearings and made some adjustments and got it working. I started collecting Shopsmith attachments from craigslist and now I have their bandsaw, jointer, belt sander, and jigsaw/scroll saw.

I never took any shop class... I don't even think they were offered in my schools. However, I've probably watched thousands of hours of youtube videos on woodworking. I have learned a lot on the Internet and enjoy continuing to learn new things all the time.
