I'm a software engineer and I've recently become interested in woodworking. I just can't get enough blogs, articles and YouTube videos of all you talented people showing off what you build and your philosophies.

I picked up a cheap table saw at Harbor Freight and used it to rip some hardboard backers for my boy's Lego plates. A year later, I started pondering what else I could do.

I quickly realized that was just wasn't up to task. The following flaws made this saw almost useless:

- Fence is difficult to square and cannot be adjusted
- Riving knife is off-center to the right of the blade and pinches materials against the fence.
- Miter slots are really rough and not very deep. I filed them down when building a sled, but they are just horrible.

I'm really looking forward to the future and I'm eager to get working.
