Took a little break and then went back to the shop to finish up the 391challenge cherry burl pen. Here we go right off the mandrall and ready to assemble.

Challenge391 cherry burl pen assembled. Top is a piece of spalted willow from Steve that I glued onto part of the cherry burl blank from Karson – east meets west! Bottom is the rest of the cherry burl that I stabilized with inlace. I wanted to have this pen as a modified slim line with a longer than normal top section. This pen will be a gift for a friend that has very large hands and has asked for a pen with a longer top section.
Hope everyone enjoyed round three of the pen trade that Tim organized. I really appreciate Karson’s generosity with the cherry burl blanks and organizing the 391challenge. That is it for this blog all comments are welcome and appreciated.

Great Job Jeff. A nice additions to the challenge. Jeff put pt3 in the tag also so we can find all pen trade 3 pens.

Awesome outcome!!! I especially like the idea of using inlace. Your friend is lucky to get such a beauty!
