The finished Mexican pot is the first of several projects that will be turned from the large piece of sugar maple featured in big stuff turning #1. There are five coats of finish on this piece. The only thing left to do is to buff it out with the Beall system – this will be done when the finish completely cures. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Just for the fun of it I also turned a small three footed bowl that I enhanced with my homemade woodburner. This was from one of the smaller pieces that I blanked out of the same tree.

The pot looks nice, how big is it? there is nothing to scale it from nor did you give measurements.

Bearpie – the large pot is 14 inches in diameter and almost 8 inches deep. I have one on the lathe that is 18 inches in diameter and 12 inches deep.
