Wood Gloat

One of the members in the TAW woodturning club sent photos of a spectacular plank of poplar that had tons of mineral coloring. There is vivid blue, purple, yellow and several other colors throughout all the planks milled from this log. Plank is 24” wide by 3” thick and 16 feet long. I bought 24 feet of this and have moved it into my shop to let it dry out before I turn platters out of it. Plan is to anchorseal the ends, sticker it and let it air dry for awhile. I got one smaller piece that I will turn as a test platter to determine how the color holds up.Will post a detailed blog on this project as I complete it. Rest of wood is all sold!
