I picked up this ottoman off of Craigslist for 40 bucks. When I bought it my wife got a little pissed at me because she thought it was dirty and disgusting and the fabric was torn. She was kind of right. It was dirty. It was disgusting. The fabric was torn. But 40 bucks was cheap and so is new material for upholstery. So off to the fabric store we headed. Part 2: TV Stand... the concept.

I had this great idea to build a cool tv stand for our living room. Its part of my new recent adventure to build all the furniture for our house in Hawaii. However, at the beginning of the project, I soon realized that wood in Hawaii is expensive and hard to find. So I had to find other ways to cut costs on wood but not sacrifice the quality or the look. So my first idea was to use hardwood flooring for table top and shelves, and then frame it all in with real hardwood. So off to the flo...

Part 3: TV Stand update

After getting home pretty late today I finished putting the last bits of trim on my tv stand and sanded it down to 320. Im planning on taking it to 1000 but I might not. The wood is wenge for the trim and sides and the tops are acacia flooring. What are your thought for the finish?
