Autumn 2016,,,,,,
November 1, and it is 75 degrees on my deck…......it could be snowing!
I just got home from a fishing outing on my favorite puddle; Bartlett Lake, a backwater of the Mississippi in Winona, MN. Too glorious a day to waste doing yard work and other mundane chores. From 9:30 until noon, I floated about, tossing a fly and soaking in the sun on a mirror-like lake, not really caring that much if I caught a mess of fish. I did manage to hook a few crappies and several bluegills. I brought home two crappies and seven bluegills, that will be supper for my wife and me, and our neighbor lady, as well.
There us something special about a day like this in November…....sort of an unexpected gift to be savored…..storing up the memory for a snowy and blustery day to come. Usually I have my boat tucked away for the winter about now, but I may keep it going for a few more days, hoping to sneak away for one more outing before giving in to the reality of winter.
Stay warm my friends…....Happy Sawdust…......

You are right…..there are some days worth hanging on to. Try to remember this day when it is 10 below with howling wind.
Have your say...
