Well, some of you wanted to see the pictures of the new dock so I’m posting these here. Thanks for all the advise too. My husband built the dock out of steal and decked it wit treated lumber. Really wanted that IEP wood, but way to expensive for something the river could rip away in a bad flood. Hopefully we’ll have this one for the next 20 years and alot of good times on it like the old one.
It went in the river in early June and we just got the boat in this weekend. We’ve had high water all summer which was perfect for pushing the dock in, but not good for getting the boat in. The river just started dropping and we we’re finally able to use the boat ramp to get this boat in. We’ve had the john boat in all summer though and it’s been another fun summer on the river. Everything is in now and she is floating great! I think he did a great job with this project! I’m hoping we can leave the boat in for at least six weeks before we have to take her home for the winter. Sure hope I’m using this photo bucket right.

David, How did you do that? Never mind, I won’t get it. But thanks again.
Love my boat! My husband named it. He put a sign on the the back. She’s called, “Don’t tell me No”. That’s what I always say to him when he says no to me. We had a fun weekend. One man overboard! My brother fell out of it trying to fetch his hat from the river. Really????

Janice, I’m really envious of your place on the river. Great dock!

Janice,
That’s a worthy project! It turned out great. So glad you can enjoy it in your great boat!

Thanks guys and gals. We’re on the Gasconade only about two miles upstream from the Missouri. This high water all summer has been back water from the Missouri River. The Gasconade is somewhere around 285 miles long and when the river is high we can go for miles up river in that boat. She’s dropping now so we only could go about 10 miles up this weekend. When she is low we have 27 steps to go down to get to the water. I haven’t seen those all summer.

Probably not much you can do with water that high other than ride the boat, eh? No fishing? ;-((
