« Part 3: Setting up new planer, great results! (DW735) Part 4 of Trying new tools series no next part

Recently picked up this 1st gen Hitachi C10FS to replace my old dewalt 12” non-slider with single piece warped fence. It’s been garage kept for it’s life and came with the stand with fold-up arms and stop system. Everything is as square as can be and in great shape!

I was always hesitant to use the old miter saw because I could only square up one side of the fence at a time, and I kept it on the ground in a corner of the shop so I’d have to twist my back every time I needed to use it. Having something square, on wheels, and with a stop is going to open up a whole new world of possibilities and shop efficiency! I even have a place for my stupidly heavy air compressor now too – can wheel it around with ease if i need to add air to the car tires or use a tool in the driveway or whatever. Pretty excited about this one all around!
