DC question/help - 11 replies

I find myself in need of a new DC as my old grizz ate the impeller. I have read through the Bill Pentz web site and think I have narrowed my options. Given my budget, I am considering either the 3HP Grizz G1030Z2P or the 2HP PSI DC2000BCFS. Here is my thinking, please straighten me out or flat out tell me I am wrong. In either case I don&...

1956 Dewalt MBF - 2 replies

I am not sure what to do at this point. I have two of these and truth be told I don’t really need even one but I do like them for some reason. While I can envision setting up both for cross cut and dado I really can’t justify the space or time required when I probably should be saving for a jointer. The negative first:...

Tip of a triangle - 14 replies

I am attempting to remove a wedge from a hunk of walnut (to be replaced with a wedge of yellow heart hopefully). The problem is the table saw blade is not infinitely thin and leaves a bit of a flat top to the wedge. Any thoughts how to get that last little bit out? If I can’t figure this out I will take the edge off the yellow heart...

Dangerous Half Lap Joint???? - 8 replies

I am making a quick and dirty porch swing and needed half lap joints at 15 degrees between the seat support and back support. I thought I could mark the top and bottom of the board and place a stop block to keep from cutting deeper than the shorter cut. I then flipped the board over, worked along the same cut till I hit the stop block and then c...

Drill Press Table - 1 reply

Just a simple DPT. 3/4 ply with 1/2 ply on top. Only twist is the center insert. I wanted something I could remove after it gets cut up and something that allowed access to the bolts holding it to the metal table. Thought about drawers for a while but decided the right solution is to mount the drill on a cabinet like I have seen others do on th...

Board Buddies - 1 reply

Thought I would give these a try. I have been trying to rip long angled strips to glue up into tubes. I was having a hard time getting a consistent angle across the length of the rip so thought these might help. I decided to completely encase fence and mount onto that. Ran into a little issue with the clamps only partially grabbing the fe...

Dewalt RAS question - 13 replies

I have a 1956 Dewalt RAS that I am trying to align the blade on. I am following the guidelines in the “Mr Sawdust” book but am roadblocked, at least I think I am. I am attempting to get the blade perpendicular to the table as described. I have removed the Allen bolts as described and attempted to use a bit of 3/4 ply on its side t...
