Remind me not to try this again by hand.
This Aussie Redgum burl is HARD, it took me about 3 hours to cut it with my trusty hand saw (which was the biggest one I had) and Black and Decker Workmate to hold it. I can just imagine the looks on my friends at the woodworking clubs faces when I tell them that I did something as crazy as this haha.

You Sir, are NUTS ! There’s NO WAY I would hold that saw, and look at that burl with even a THOUGHT of cutting it by hand !
So now that it’s cut, what you gonna do with it?

Looks like you did a great job at it. i can’t wait to see what the Bonsai stands look like from them.

Correct, I have really sore hands and shoulders today!
The idea is to use the small section as a bonsai stand so I will have to craft some legs that suit and I would like to build in a drain into some sort of container to stop the water getting onto my table.
The larger section I am not sure but I think it would make a nice carved bowl so I think I will be getting out the arbortech gear for that.
Cheers from Aus and I hope 2016 is kind to you and your family. David
