I have had a go at filling the carved out section for the gum nuts with epoxy. Only a small job I know but I am pretty new to the world of epoxy.

I overfilled it as I was concerned about shrinkage. (as all guys are hehe)

There was a bit of a disaster when I tried sanding it back as I thought 24 hours was long enough for it to harden….It felt like it had set however as I sanded with an orbital sander the epoxy started to kind of melt as it hadn’t hardened properly all the way through.
I stopped just in time and left it another day and fortunately there was enough left on top to get rid of the melted section.
