In this episode, I cut the base down to final length and shape it on the router table. Then I put a round-over on the legs and glue them to the base.

Lookin good! But I would rethink the black as I like the grain to show. Personally I would try to match the legs to the upright portion. Test on some scrap. Amber shellac might just match (if you are lucky).
