« Part 13: Shovel bucket. Part 14 of Photos and info on 1/8th scale model 5130 series no next part

There is 210 pieces of wood and 18 #2×3/8th screws in the shovel bucket.

The grooves are for wear(rub) bars on the bottom of the bucket.

The grooves on the left side are for the placement of the ears that is used for the attachment to the boom. Building up the thickness.

The inside. The outside. The inset is needed for clearance on the end of the boom.

This shot helps to show the layout of all of the parts.

The side panels(one of two). Just lining up the pieces. Gluing the sides on. Line up shot.

Checking the clearance (no rubbing) of the two bucket parts. I do not want to ruin my paint job.

Left and right good to go. Ready for assembly.

A good inside of the bucket shot. The upright piece on the tops of the teeth are handling hook ups for assembly. They are HEAVY. You need a machine to pick them up to put them in place. Full open.

This is all the photos that I can publish. I have some with to many MB. If I can I will publish these shots later. I hope everyone liked the blog. To me this was harder than building the whole machine. I will do another blog starting in Jan. Thanks for all the comments and Merry Christmas to everyone. Enjoy.

Before I didn’t comment your blog but you can be sure I enjoyed it very much, and have seen all contributions. Making a blog can be hard and time consuming. I looked at your first blog and now it has 3 commands but more than 2000 reads!! The second one more than 1800.

SO: THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE LABOR.

210 pieces and a whole bucket load of patience precision.

Happy Christmas from the Great Southern Land sir.
We’re hoping for drought breaking wet Christmas and a Muddy New Years along with no bushfires.

Without the detail it would be just a bunch of wooden pieces.

Have your say...
