I’m building a couple of bird feeders for a client, friends of our family, he tried to look for shaker shingles for the roof covering, but could not find them, so he opted to buy a couple packs of contractor shims, the run of the mill type you find at a local lumberyard.

So today as I was looking for ways of how to apply these to the octogon roof, I found a pleasing effect of fanning them from rafter to rafter, it gave a swirly look from the edges, so I decided to document this in a quick video, the procedures I found to work, for applying these to the octogon roof.
