You know you're a woodworker when.... - 2 replies

Graciously stolen from other sites (along with a couple of my own)....... You cut yourself with a chisel and you’re more concerned about not getting blood on your workpiece than you are about the laceration. You inexplicably find sawdust in your drawers. And I’m not talking about furniture. You can say “crotchwood” with a straight face....

Resaw services offered in Ohio? - 3 replies

I have some 7/8” Maple I need to get down to 1/2”, but don’t want to plane away all that wood. In theory you should be able to resaw it and get a 1/2” slab and a 1/4” slab with a good bandsaw resaw blade. I, however, do not have an appropriately sized bandsaw or blade to do the job. I was wondering if there was a...

Matching woodgrain vinyl on Merillat cabinets - 2 replies

The problem is Merilatt uses an oak grain vinyl paper on the outside of the sides and a maple vinyl on the inside with maple vinyl for the shelves. I have no idea where to get this vinyl...

Is there a router bit set to match this profile? - 10 replies

I’m trying to duplicate the joinery in an entertainment center I have, and they have used a rather unique profile for the door rail and stile construction: I can probably recreate it manually using multiple bits, but it would be much easier to find a couple bits that would make the entire profile at once. Has anyone seem something ...

TV cabinet in Sketchup - 36 replies

I’m new here, but I thought I’d share a project I created this week using Sketchup. We have a 65” Mitsubishi rear projection TV in a nice oak tower setup to hold the AV components and such. We’ve been looking at getting a newer set, and saw a nice Mitsu 65” DLP we debated getting after Thanksgiving. We didn’...
