Part 1: Day One

After I looked at my wood pile and found a bunch of hardwood “shorts”, I decided to use them in a project. This hanging wall case is actually designed around those smaller pieces of lumber I found. I am also trying to do this in a single weekend, which is difficult for me as most of the projects I do take me anywhere from 3 weeks to several months depending on the complexity and size. Part 2: Day Two

In this video of the series, I fit the shelves and then I can start making the door for the cabinet. I unfortunately made a mistake which set me back from finishing the cabinet within the time frame that I set for myself. Still I made some good progress and it’s really starting to look good. And as always, I like to hear your comments and questions!

Part 3: Weekend Project - Cherry Wall Cabinet -Day Three

In the last video of this build, I start by making the raised panel for the doors. I glue them up, and then start on the top and bottom pieces. I cut the hinges for the doors, and then fit them for a nice even reveal. It is all followed up by several coats of garnet shellac and blonde shellac, and then followed up by a final coat of wax.
